At Turning Corners Psychological Services, we dedicate ourselves to providing professional services for all of our clients and work with children, youth, families, parents, couples and adults. For our younger clients we offer child and youth friendly psychological services and believe in the important role of the family in the child and youth's life. We also believe strongly in treating our clients with dignity, regardless of their age. Dr. Neil Gottheil, C.Psych. is an independently licensed clinical psychologist through the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and is Clinical Director of Turning Corners Psychological Services. Dr. Gottheil received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, his Master`s degree in Developmental Psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Gottheil has been in practice for the past 10 years and provides comprehensive psychological assessments and treatments for children, youth and families. Dr. Gottheil works with clients struggling with mood (i.e., depression, bipolar illness) and anxiety disorders, peer relational issues, parent-child difficulties, social skills development, anger and behavioural issues, psychosis, and suicidality. Dr. Gottheil has a particular interest in the area of Bully and Victim issues, has provided various community and professional lectures and workshops on the topic, and will be running a group for targets of bullying called Outsmarting the Bully.
Dr. Philippe Adams, C.Psych. is an independently licensed clinical psychologist through the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Adams works with children, adolescents and families while also assuming a full-time position at a community paediatric rehabilitation centre.
Dr. Adams received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from McGill University in Montreal. While at McGill, Dr. Adams’ research was in the area of self-concept and the the development of depression in adolescence. Dr. Adams provides psychotherapy and assessment services to children, adolescents, and families. He has a particular interest in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, crisis mangement, gender identity issues, phobias, obsessions and compulsions, relationship problems, and GLBT issues. In addition, Dr. Adams carries out psychoeducational, developmental, personality and psychdiagnostic assessments. Dr. Adams is fluently bilingual and is able to work with clients in both English and French.
Office Management
Mrs. Lindsay Gottheil is the Office Manager at Turning Corners Psychological Services. She comes to Turning Corners with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Carleton University and a background in marketing and arts administration. Mrs. Gottheil's primary role is to provide support to the Clinical Director and to manage the administrative functions of the practice. Mrs. Gottheil's responsibilities include coordination of associate activities, client correspondence, scheduling for Dr. Gottheil, development of marketing materials such as brochures and newsletters and special projects.
