At Turning Corners, our Psychologists and Mental Health practitioners provide assessment and treatment services for various areas of difficulty. While there is a particular emphasis on children, youth, parenting, and families, our associates provide treatment for adults as well. Types of Assessment Services: Comprehensive assessments involve gathering information from multiple sources and using multiple methods. Clinical interviews, behavioural observations, prior report and school records review, administration of standardized and normatively based psychometric measures, surveys, and projective instruments, are all used integratively to formulate diagnoses and develop treatment plans and feedback. Types of Treatment Services: The therapeutic approach is tailored to fit each client’s unique needs and takes into account cultural, developmental, cognitive, and interpersonal styles. Our therapists draw upon a variety of theoretical frameworks including but not limited to, cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, behavioural, family systems, humanistic and interpersonal orientations. Treatment can be delivered in many formats including activity-based, supportive, exploratory, didactic, and discussion oriented.
