Outsmarting the Bully Group Description: The OSB group is an evidence-based group designed for individuals who are being chronically targeted by bullies. There are two groups (one for children and one for adolescents), designed to educate parents about bullying and advocacy, provide support to children/youth who are being bullied, and help participants learn skills and strategies to begin to manage their bully experiences. Led by Dr. Neil Gottheil, the group allows individuals to feel less alone with their bully experiences; learn, practice and teach each other possible solutions; obtain practical skills and receive trained adult guidance in a small group format. Group Structure: 8 to 10 slots for children between the ages of 9 to 13 years; 8 to 10 slots for youth ages 14 to 17 years Running Time: 10 weeks (2 family and 8 group sessions); 90 minute group sessions Group Leader: Dr. Neil Gottheil, C.Psych. Referral: Groups will run based on occupancy. Participation in the group is determined following the completion of an intake survey and possible family interview to ensure a mutual fit. Given the limited space, please contact Dr. N. Gottheil at (613) 321-0642 for further information and availability.
